Conveniently situated between Johannesburg and Pretoria, Centurion is an ideal area for the up and coming business person and perfect to raise a family.
With main access routes connecting Centurion with every important centre in Gauteng, commuting to nearby metropolitan areas and towns is hassle free.
Within the immediate area, Centurion provides employment to more than 50 000 people. It’s known as a mecca of small businesses with 40% of businesses in the area having 1 to 5 employees. Centurion offers a selection homes to choose from, including 27 suburbs. The Hennops River flows through the heart of Centurion with dry sunny winters and warm hot summers accompanied by late afternoon showers. Home to two Air Force Bases and several divisions of the South African Defense Army, Centurion hosts an aerospace supplier park where anchor firms are supported by small and medium sized producers.
The first areas of Centurion were established in the early 1900s, with the development of housing for civil servants and Iscor workers. The area started to thrive in the 1960s due to an increase in interest from first house buyers, after the first property sales hit the market.
A decision was finally made in 1978 to develop Centurion’s own economic base, where only local shops and offices had existed prior. The town initially had no city centre, but once the business centre was developed in 1978 it stimulated the economic growth and potential for job creation significantly.
This is the perfect suburb to work, live and play!
